The term "homelessness" misdescribes what you see on the streets of San Francisco. It's mostly drug addiction. We need to incentivize recovery and create disincentives for drug tourism. Moderate Democrats will never stand up to the Homeless Industrial Complex that steals your money and attracts troubled people from elsewhere. I will.
San Francisco Unified School District has a virtual monopoly on providing free education. The absence of competition means that SFUSD can continue delivering horrible student outcomes (particularly in math and reading proficiency) without consequence. Allowing more charter schools would create the competitive pressures and incentives towards excellence. Moderate Democrats will never stand up to the teachers union that is hostile to charter schools. I will.
San Francisco spends billions every year and the results are virtually nonexistent. I will demand audits, sunset ineffective programs, and prioritize core services like safety and infrastructure over endless bureaucracy and pet projects. Moderate Democrats will never stand up to the union-driven spending machine that wastes your tax dollars. I will.
